As indicated by the USGS, a 5.1 seismic tremor happened soon after 8 a.m. 3 km southeast of Sparta, North Carolina.
For reference, Sparta is 145 miles west-northwest of Raleigh.
Sparta occupant, Gerson Cuevas' house was seriously broken by the tremor.
